Vatican, gr. 1613, p. 170. Martyrdom, beheading. Soul borne to Heaven. Emperor Maximian, crowned, is seated, legs crossed, before a building with ornament of a shell and two eagles. The body and severed head of Alexander lies on the ground. Above, two half-figures of angels carry the soul of Alexander toward an arc of Heaven from which rays appear.
