An executioner is beating three bishops, including one who has fallen to the ground, with a club. A fourth bishop, prone, is being dragged by a rope tied around his ankles. Two more bishops stand with raised hands praying toward rays emerging from an arc of Heaven. (Tréneff, Ménologe grec, p. 8, fig. 34).
