Hebrews Three. Three Hebrew youths (Ananias, Azarius and Misael) thrown into a furnace under Nebucadnezar. They were rescued by an angel.

Vatican, gr. 1613, p. 251. Three Hebrews. Persian dress. 1) In fiery furnace. The three youths stand, surrounded by flames, in a furnace. An angel, standing behind them, extends his arms and places his hands on the heads of the youths at left and right. 2) Martyrdom, beheading. One youth is about to be beheaded. The second holds the severed head of his other companion, whose body has fallen to the ground. (Menologio, I, pp. 68-9, II, fig. p. 251).
