One of two almost identically sized cusped quatrefoil panels of a burse. Called "The Berkeley Purse." Related to a burse panel in the Victoria and Albert Museum, inv. T.62-1936.

Provenance: Robert Valentine Berkeley (1853-1940), The Berkeley Collection, Spetchley Park, by 1905, and by descent until 2019. Exhibited with the Sam Fogg Collection in "The Medieval Body" exhibition (New York, Luhring Augustine Gallery, 21 Jan- 12 Mar 2022. See catalogue no. 11).
