Magi, Adoration
Detail, portal, cornice and frieze
The frieze originally extended on the south facade of the church. Later, two arches were built to sustain the facade, and the space before the portal was closed in a narthex. At this time, the reliefs at the extremities, which would have been covered by the arches, were removed and re-assembled on the arches to preserve the frieze integrity and its narrative continuity.
